Hello!
To those who may have wandered in from the internet, welcome! My name is Ryan and I love games, technology, the principles of leadership, and having fun in all of it’s forms.
I woke up this morning and decided that I have something to say. A lot of somethings actually. Things that I’ve been thinking about and I am now sad I didn’t start doing this earlier. I have a few different projects that I want to share thoughts on. Games I play I want to share thoughts on as well as (situationally) my take on the world. I’m fully aware that opinions are like… well let’s just say everyone has them and I’m just one more of those people that has an opinion and would like to explain my viewpoint.
I’ve kept some notes for the last couple of years with ideas and thoughts I’d like to share. At the very least I’d like to spend some time expanding my perspective on things I’m interested in, so why not focus on that and publish it for the internet to see?
I have no ambitions of making money with this. This seems to shockingly run contrary to most people – or advice articles I’ve found – for folks who attempt to do this. Seriously… there’s a TON of advice on how to make money publishing your thoughts on the internet. While I’m not against making money for spending your time on something, I do think it’s interesting that you can get paid for pushing your opinion out there on the internet. I figured the worst-case scenario is that I may be able to improve my writing skills and to get the things I think about out of my head and into the world.
A few thoughts on ground rules or guidelines… I’m not a fan of needless profanity. While I won’t outright say I’ll never ‘curse’… it’s not my default operating mode so don’t expect it often if at all. I’m not someone who is interested in courting controversy (aka ‘the drama’). I figure I’ll leave that to those who are doing this for money or want to be in the absolute center of attention at all times. Neither of those describes me. Finally, I’m aiming at posting once per week, though between projects, work, and personal commitments we’re likely going to have to adjust as we go along.
That’s about all for today – thank you for your attention!
