Here’s my top 10 games I’m most excited about after all the summer games fest showcases from June 4th to June 9th this year. Sadly no CRPGs on display, but a lot of other great looking potential bangers.
My Top 10 of All Shows
- The Expanse – Osiris Reborn
- Developer: Owlcat Games
- I love Owlcat’s CRPGs, Osiris Reborn is Owlcat’s swing at a Mass Effect like game. Mass Effect series is one of my favorite of all time, I’m excited to see what Owlcat can do with a Mass Effect like game.
- Metal Gear Solid Delta
- Developer: Konami
- While I played Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 on release, I did miss Metal Gear Solid 3, which Delta is a remake of. I’m excited to play a faithful remake with today’s quality of life features.
- Clockwork Revolution
- Developer: InXile Entertainment
- InXile created the CRPG fallout inspired Wasteland series which had great humor and great gameplay mechanics. I’m a little bummed out the new entry isn’t a CRPG but from the trailer the humorous spirit is intact and makes me excited to play this.
- Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement
- Developer: Airplay
- I really enjoyed Bloodstained Ritual of the Night as a Castlevania Symphony of the Night spiritual successor, I’m on board for a sequel!
- Blood of the Dawnwalker
- Developer: Rebel Wolves
- Coming from Witcher 3 developers forming their own studio, has vampires and interesting looking combat mechanics.
- Stranger than Heaven
- Developer: Ryu Ga Gotoku
- I love the heart of RGG games, I’m completely on board for this new time frame hopping offering.
- 007 First Light
- Developer: IO Interactive
- Creators of the Hitman series is taking a huge swing at making a 007 cinematic action game. Looks great, I’m very hopeful for this one.
- Nioh 3
- Developer: Team Ninja
- I love the Nioh series (though I’m not great at it unfortunately) and am 100% on board for a sequel.
- Dispatch
- Developer: Adhoc Studio
- I played the demo released for this, the writing and humor made me laugh out loud multiple times. The gameplay didn’t quite hook me, though I do want to give it a shot upon release.
- Felt That: Boxing
- Developer: Sans Strings Studio
- Boxing foul-mouthed muppets in a punch-out style game? I’m on board!
Want to know more about
- Pragmata
- Child robot (assumedly) plus grown adult guardian as they fight their way through some kind of space station… I’d like to know more!
- Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection
- This is a game collection of my favorite fighting game series, plus well produced documentaries. I’m curious about how in depth the documentaries are, but this definitely has my attention.
- Code Vein 2
- I enjoyed but burned out on Code Vein 1, can a sequel hold my interest? I’d like to know!
- Onimusha Way of the Sword
- What would a modern take of the Onimusha series look like? I’m very curious!
- Acts of Blood
- Solo dev project focused on martial arts fighting? Sounds interesting!
- Outer Worlds 2
- I’m very curious if the sequel can smooth out some of the issues of its predecessor. The 80 dollar price tag makes this a tough sell on launch for me.
- Resonance: Plague Tail Legacy
- I like the concept and high level story of the previous plague tail games, though the gameplay never hooked me. This sequel may be different enough to pique my interest, but I need to know a bit more.
- Beast of Reincarnation
- From the every 2 years or so Pokemon developers doing something different meaning a real time combat-centric 3rd person action game. My interest is piqued.
